  • Create opportunities for open dialogue and respect
  • Infuse ongoing opportunities for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training for the Student Life leadership

Charge of the SIL DEI Committee

The committee focuses on fulfilling the objectives of the Student Life DEI Three-Year Strategic Plan by:

  • Meeting bi-weekly at a mutually agreed upon time
  • Hosting one program per quarter about current events and trends around DEI
  • Working with campus partners to identify and provide professional development opportunities for the staff of SIL, whether utilizing current program and resources, or creating and implementing new programs and resources
  • Recommending policies and procedures to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within Student Involvement and Leadership

Membership

Each department within Student Life will have 1 representative with 4 at-large positions with two-year appointments while at large members serve a minimum of a one-year appointment.
